Frequently Asked Questions

How is the extension performed?

The lash is applied hair by hair to each of our own lashes using a special bonding agent that lasts through your natural growth cycle of each lash, which is between 60 to 100 days

How do I take care of them?

Eyelash extensions are easily maintained. When cleaning, don't rub your eyes too hard. Avoid any oil based cleansers lotion or make-up remover. Gel cleanser is recommended. Use a small Q-tip to carefully clean the eyeliner around the eye.

Is the lash extension glued to my skin?

No, the extension lashes are glued about 1 mm away from your skin. Neither the synthetic lash nor the glue ever come in contact with your skin.

Will the Extensions damage my own lashes?

No, eyelash extensions will not damage your own lashes unless you don’t follow given aftercare advise or pull them out whilst attached to the natural lashes.

If I have a special event that I want my lashes put on for, when should I make an appointment?

If you have a special event coming up, you should schedule your appointment 4-5 days before the event in case of an allergic reaction, in which you would have to come in for the lashes to be removed.

What are the most common types of lash extensions?

synthetic, silk and mink

What does celebrity lashes & spa use?

Synthetic and Mink

Differences Between Mink or Synthetic Eyelashes?

The main difference between the types of lashes comes down to their firmness, are they real fur, faux fur or synthetic. Synthetic lashes are the heaviest, great for a really full thick look, often rated at 0.20mm in thickness. Mink are usually thinner and softer than Synthetic rated at 0.15mm-0.2mm in thickness, but can also come thicker as well. We usually use synthetic or mink and we consult our clients to figure out the thickness that will work with their expectations.

What is the difference between Celebrity Lashes & Spa and other lash places?

Our products are the best products on the market, we use Novalash Brand, and our technicians are qualified and experienced.

How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions Last?

When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone’s experience will differ based on day to day activities but overall touchups should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks. A special waterproof bonding agent is used. Glue does not contain any fumes or irritants and is long lasting.

How long does a full set take to put on a full set?

The process takes about 2 hours to complete for a full set depending on your lashes. A half set of lashes takes about an hour to an hour and a half. The 2 week touch up takes an hour.

How do I choose the look I want?

Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thickness. We normally consult with you first to see what type of style you are interested in. We also determine what your lashes can hold in regards to size. Each person’s lashes will vary in strength and length. We take this into consideration when creating a look for you. The overall look of the lashes is very natural

Can I use eye makeup remover while I have them?

When you remove your makeup, just be extremely careful and do your best to avoid touching the lashes. Use a gentle eye makeup remover with a cleansing wipe rather than cotton balls or Q-tips. Do not use an oil-based makeup remover, as oil-based products can affect the glue negatively.

How can I make them last longer?

Try to sleep on your back! I know this is difficult for those who are accustomed to being side (or even face) sleepers but it can help your lashes avoid getting pulled or prodded. Also, even if you really love feeling that lengthy, lovely, lush set of new lashes all up on your fingertips, resist the urge to touch them anyway. You should be careful whilst washing your face to avoid tugging or pushing on them, as well.
